I first discovered this book, “The Well of Being” by Jean-Pierre Weill this past January 1. Its title alone was enough to grab my attention. But when I read the subtitle: “a children’s book for adults” and saw a few of his illustrations, I was hooked—and ordered the book immediately.
A few days later, it duly arrived at my doorstep. Since then, it has sat for 9 months in plain view (and been moved from one corner of my dining room to another during periodic “room straightenings”).
Today—as I began another “straightening and clearing” exercise in preparation for hosting a gathering here next weekend, I decided the time had come at last to pause for a sip from the well.
Oh, how refreshing it is! The words are few, the accompanying illustrations exquisite. My thoughts turned your direction as I savored the pages—and thought you might enjoy getting a “taste” with the following video preview.
